Three 3s in a row by Brady Landis at the end of the third period and opening of the fourth quarter helped spark Galva, which held on at the end to top ROWVA 56-54 in a tight Lincoln Trail Conference boys basketball game Jan. 25 in Galva.

Landis’ 3 at the end of the third put the Cats ((4-14, 2-3) up 37-36. His next two 3s – six of the 13 points he scored in the fourth period – helped stave off a pesky Tigers team which fought to the end, despite being down by eight points near the end of the game.

Kile Mott led the Cats with 19 points, including seven in the opening period to lead Galva to a 12-12 tie. He also hit 7-of-9 free throws. Landis finished with 18 points, including 7-of eight fourth-quarter free throws.

ROWVA (7-12, 3-2) was led by Kenny Fogerty, who tallied 20 points. Matt Shepherd added 12.

The game was the first time Galva and ROWVA players faced each other since many of them competed together on the Mid-County co-op football team last  fall.
