Woodhull -

AlWood Supt. Shannon Bumann commented at the Jan. 25 AlWood School Board meeting about the recent wind turbine informational meeting in Woodhull.

Bumann said the tax revenue received by the district will be between $200,000 and $250,000, though a much more significant figure was reported at the informational meeting.

He explained the state aid amount decreases as local funds and assessed valuation increases, he explained, funds decrease by about $30,000 for each $1 million increase in assessed valuation.

He added that the Pioneer Seed tax appeal is worth several hundred thousand dollars to the district also, an appeal that hasn’t been resolved.

“The state is significantly behind on payments to the school,” he told the board.

The board approved establishing a $200,000 line of credit to meet expenses until payments are made by the state.
