Local rock band Motorbiscuit has reached the final six and is advancing to the second round in the Third Annual Battle of the Bands contest at Crusens, a popular Peoria nightspot.

The band earned the right to advance by winning its opening round Friday night.

Performing for Motorbiscuit were: Devon Peterson (keyboard, piano, lead vocals), Nolan Peterson (lead guitar, back-up vocals), Matt Sanudo (rhythm guitar, back-up vocals), Dan Sanudo (bass guitar), Lance Salzmann (drums), and Kerry Cortes (lead vocals). Band member Ellie Savage, who provides back-up vocals, was unable to participate due to being away at college.

“The crowd just exploded,” said Dan Sanudo, “and I think they were really surprised. We walked into this building where no one knew us. We played classic rock songs not many bands liked to play and they were surprised."

Motorbiscuit will now play in the second round on Friday night at Crusens, located at 426 E. War Memorial Drive, Peoria, around 9:30 p.m.
