GED preparation classes at the Black Hawk College Community Education Center in downtown Kewanee will get underway Wednesday, Jan. 11, about a week before college-credit classes start at the East Campus.

“We follow a schedule that makes it easier for parents to work on their education while their kids also are in school,” said David Harris, outreach coordinator.

“Students are finding that our study materials and computer programs are making learning much easier than they expected.”

Enrollment for GED classes will be Wednesday-Friday, Jan. 11-13. Students can enroll and start classes any of those days. Classes begin at 9 a.m.

GED classes are provided at no cost to learners who qualify.
