Galva and Bishop Hill firefighters were on the scene for nearly five hours at a Galva house fire that left three young men homeless Tuesday evening.

The house, at 415 SE 3rd Ave., received significant damage. It was occupied by three brothers, Duke, Denny and Donald Clow, who were home when the fire started. They all got out safely, but one was taken by Stark County Ambulance with a medical problem.

Galva Fire Chief Denny Tarleton said the cause has not been determined. At first, lights went out in the home. When the men went to investigate, they found flames upstairs at the top of the stairs.

More details are expected in the Jan. 20 Galva News.
