Judith Mae “Judy” McDonald, 74, of Galva, died at 5:10 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017 at her home.

Judith Mae “Judy” McDonald, 74, of Galva, died at 5:10 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017 at her home.

She was born Feb. 6, 1942 in Wyanet, the daughter of Fred and Winona “Nonie” (Stroud-Baldwin) Moore.

She married Raymond E. “Ray” McDonald on May 5, 1961 in Wyanet and he preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 1995.

Survivors include two sons, Rodney (Kim) McDonald of Kewanee and Gary McDonald of Galva; her daughter, Teresa (Eric) Wood of Galva; a stepson, Doug (Debra) McDonald of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; a stepdaughter, Yvonne Vorhies of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Carol Koegler of Florida; five grandchildren, Adam Smith, Ryan Smith, Rodney McDonald Jr., Michael McDonald and Andrew Kistler; and 15 great-grandchildren with one on the way.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two brothers in infancy and a stepdaughter, Carolyn.

Judy attended schools in Sheffield and Princeton and graduated from the CNA program at Black Hawk East.

She had worked as a certified nurses assistant and ward clerk at Kewanee Hospital, retiring in 2005.

She enjoyed biking and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Black Hawks, NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt fan.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Very Rev. Jerry Rafalko will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sheffield Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed OSF Hospice or to the family for a memorial to be established.
