• Faith-Based Weight Loss Program Begins – at First Baptist Church, 211 NW 4th Ave., Galva. Weigh-in 5:45 to 6:15 p.m., followed by rally time with 25-minute video and then teams meet separately for small-group time. 12- week program using book and video series entitled “Bod4God.” Info: church at 932-2713.

• Galva Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner Meeting – 6 p.m. at Kewanee Dunes (5 p.m. cocktail hour). Evening includes Citizen of Year (Teresa Byers) and Friend of Chamber (Jack and Mary Hathaway) awards presentations. Dinner tickets $10.
