The three men accused of Class X felony attempted murder, Class 3 felony aggravated battery/bodily harm and aggravated battery/use of a deadly weapon had their cases extended another month due to the state waiting on lab results from the Morton Crime Lab.

Caine D. Ingram, 19, of Kewanee, Quenton D. Whiteside, 25, and Jamar T. Whiteside, 22, both of Galva, remain jailed on $2 million bond each. The three pleaded not guilty.

At an April 24 preliminary hearing the men waived their preliminary hearings.

The defense attorneys for each man objected to the delay but agreed the state had exercised due diligence in its efforts to get the lab results.

According to court records the three men allegedly stabbed Michael W. Palmer and struck him with an axe handle on April 17 at a Galva home. A pretrial conference is set for Sept. 14.
