The Lady Cats topped Putnam County 25-22, 25-20 in their home opener.

Other leaders for Galva were Patty with two aces; Darrah Schilling with two aces, eight assists and one block; Hannah Anderson with two digs and one block; Sophia Corkill with two digs; and Lauren Landis with one block.

In the JV match, Putnam County defeated Galva 25-14, 25-15.

The varsity Lady Cats were back in action Saturday and went 0-4 in the Hall Early Bird Tournament at Spring Valley.

Galva lost to Fieldcrest (25-15, 25-21), Plano (25-19, 25-16) and Hall (24-26, 25-20, 15-5) in pool play. In the seventh-place match, Galva fell to Stark County 25-21, 25-12.

Leaders by match for Galva were:

Fieldcrest — Kristen VanDeVelde and Hannah Anderson with two aces, Darrah Schilling six assists and three blocks, Brynn Patty four kills and Sophia Corkill eight digs.

Plano — Josie Williams with one ace, Schilling four assists, Patty two kills and one block, Anderson two kills, Corkill five digs and Landis one block.

Hall — Landis and Emilyann Wexell with two aces, Schilling six assists, Patty three kills and two blocks, Anderson three kills and Corkill six assists.

Stark County — Williams with two aces, Schilling two assists, Landis two kills and Corkill 18 digs.

In Tuesday night’s non-conference trip to Erie, the Lady Cats lost to the Cardinals 25-19, 25-16.

The leaders for Galva, now 1-6 on the season, were Emilyann Wexell with three kills, Brynn Patty two aces, Darrah Schilling five assists and Sophia Corkill 10 digs.

Galva dropped the fresh-soph match to Erie 25-22, 8-25, 15-11.
