With four players among the top-17 finishers — led by freshman Thomas Bumann with 77 — the Ridgewood boys golf team won Kewanee’s Boiler Invitational tourney Saturday at Baker Park.

The Spartans finished with a 328 total to top the 19-team field. St. Bede and Putnam County finished tied for second at 343 and Mercer County placed fourth at 344.

Bumann’s round of 77 placed him third in the individual race, behind only Matt Boucher of Henry with 74 and Caleb Dzierzynski of Putnam County with 75.

Also counting for the Spartans were Riley Nelson ninth overall with 81, Levi Swanson 11th with 83 and Bill Bumann 17th with 87.

Mid-County placed 10th in the tournament with a 367 team total. 

The Cougars were led by Mason Kaiser with 87, followed by Matt Graves 91, Cale Attaway 93 and Rian Mott 96.

Rounding out the top 10 at Baker Park in the team standings were Mercer County 344, Bureau Valley 350, Prophetstown 358, Rockridge 360, Orion and Morrison 366 and Mid-County at 367.
