Henry County officials have completed tax deed proceedings on real estate properties that were delinquent for 2013 and prior real estate taxes. The county will now offer for sale the real estate obtained to the public.
Approximately 38 items will be offered through a sealed bid auction. All sealed bids must be in the Henry County Treasurer’s Office, 307 W. Center St., Cambridge, IL 61238, by the close of business on Friday, Oct. 13.
County officials hope the sale of the lots will be a benefit to both the taxing districts and the neighboring property owners.
This sale will place the properties into the hands of individuals who have an interest in owning them and will hopefully both maintain the property and keep the real estate taxes paid.
The required minimum bid is $654 per item. All items will be sold to the highest sealed bid received on or before Oct. 13. Complete bidder’s packets and sale catalogs are available online at www.iltaxsale.com.
