The play begins with a 10 a.m. shotgun start.

Ridgewood enters as the team to beat in the boys tourney — led by freshman Thomas Bumann and senior Levi Swanson — with Mercer County, the host Cougars and Williamsfield providing the top competition for the Spartans. Rounding out the field are United, Stark County, Princeville, Annawan-Wethersfield and West Central.

In the girls tourney, Mid-County’s Elizabeth Whitford is among the favorites in the individual race.

 

Mid-County tops West Central

The Mid-County boys posted a 178 team total to defeat West Central Monday at Oak Run.

Mason Kaiser was meet medalist with 42 on Oak Run’s front nine. Also counting for the Cougars were Tristan Rogers and Kaden Willer with rounds of 45, and Cale Attaway 46.  the dual meet season.

 

Mid-County 12th at Riverdale Invitational

The Mid-County boys finished 12th out of 17 teams at Riverdale’s Wayne Brinkmeier Invitational Saturday at Byron Hills Golf Course.

The Cougars finished with a 362 team total in the 18-hole invite, led by freshman Kaden Willer with 88. Also counting for M-C were Matt Graves with 89, Mason Kaiser 92 and Cale Attaway 93.

The host Rams won the tourney with a 291 total, followed by Alleman at 298, and Putnam County and Macomb at 313 each.

 

Kaiser’s 33 leads M-C to co-op record 156 total

Mid-County’s Mason Kaiser fired a 2-under par 33 on Baker Park’s front nine Wednesday (Sept. 13) to lead the Cougars over host Kewanee and Princeville.

The Cougars fired a 156 team total — which is a new 9-hole record for the Galva-ROWVA golf co-op — followed by Kewanee at 171 and Princeville 206.

Also counting for Mid-County were Matt Graves and Tristan Rogers with 40 each, and Kaden Willer and Carey Meyer with 43 each.

In the JV match, Kewanee topped Mid-County 182 to 191. Mid-County’s four scores were Tanner Klein with 44, Trey Rogers and Ben Murdock 48 each, and Josh Jeffries 51.

 

Bumann’s 35 lifts Ridgewood to co-op record

Thomas Bumann shot an even-par 35 on the front nine at Gibson Woods Tuesday as Ridgewood fired a co-op record 153 in its dual meet win over United. The 153 total topped the previous best mark of 157 for the AlWood-Cambridge co-op. 

Also counting for the Spartans were Levi Swanson with 37, Riley Nelson 38 and Ganon Greenman 43. Ridgewood is 16-2 on the dual meet season.

 

Swanson’s 36 leads Ridgewood over Princeville

Paced by an even-par 36 from medalist Levi Swanson, the Ridgewood boys golf team cruised past Princeville 168 to 254 at Valley View Monday.

Also counting for the Spartans were Thomas Bumann with 40, and Riley Nelson and Ganon Greenman 46 each.

 

Ridgewood tops Stark County, West Central

Thomas Bumann posted a 4-over par 40 at Lake Calhoun Country Club to earn medalist honors and lead Ridgewood over Stark County and West Central Wednesday (Sept. 13).

Ridgewood finished with a 172 team total, followed by Stark County 232 and West Central 263.

Also counting for the Spartans were Levi Swanson with 43, Bill Bumann 44, and Riley Nelson and Ganon Greenman with 45 each.
