Marlee F. Anderson

Marlee F. Anderson, 90 of Galva, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his family. 

Services are Thursday, Sept. 28, at 3 p.m. at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo, where visitation is from 1 p.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in Aledo Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Mercer County VFW or Aledo United Methodist Church.

 Marlee Frank Anderson was born on Nov. 9, 1926 in Monmouth to Frank William and Ruth Ann (Beck) Anderson. He served his country in the Army Air Force during World War II. Marlee married Evelyn Etta Board on Nov. 8, 1947 in Taylorville.

 Marlee retired from flight service after 40 years. He owned and operated Anderson Flying Service and also managed both the Mercer County Airport, and the Kewanee Airport. Marlee was a dedicated flight instructor, flew Charter flights all over the United States and was a dealer of Piper Aircraft. 

 Marlee is survived by his wife, Evelyn; sons, Daniel Anderson of Neponset and David Anderson of Louisville, Ky.; a grandson, Troy Resetich of Spring Valley; and a brother, Ronald Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Joan Marie Resetich; and a brother, John.
