Harold T. Ericson
Harold T. Ericson, 87, of Knollwood Ct., Peoria died Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, at OSF Hospital in Peoria.
He was born July 28, 1930 in Kewanee, the son of Theodore Wesley and Myrtle Leora Ericson. He married Norma Jean Paul on Jan. 11, 1953 in the United Methodist Church in Cambridge.
She survives along with one son, Randall Ericson of Peoria; two daughters, Pamela Ericson of Peoria and Rebecca (David) Connour of Bloomington; one sister in-law, Jean Ericson of Galva; three grandchildren, Kimberly (Jarod) Montag, Jessica Ericson and Kyle Connour; two step grandchildren, Scott (Jessica) Connour and Sarah (Brandon) Hastings; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Charles and Alan.
Harold lived in Galva during his childhood and school years before moving to Peoria in 1951 to further his education.
He worked at Komatsu Dresser, formerly R. G. Le Tourneau, and retired in 1991 as a machine shop general foreman. Harold volunteered at Wildlife Prairie Park and the American Red Cross as long as he was able, and liked to hunt, camp and fish. He was on many committees at Madison Avenue Methodist Church over the years, of which he was a member for over 50 years.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 11 a.m. with a visitation from 9 a.m. until the start of the service at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. The Rev. Craig Miller officiated. Cremation will be accorded and burial of the urn will be at a later date. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
