On a cold and windy day that featured a few snow flurries, the Mid-County boys cross country team placed 15th at the Class 1A Oregon Sectional meet Saturday.

The Cougars finished with a 346 total in the 21-team field.

Lorin Peterson led M-C by finishing 24th overall with a time of 17:12.34. Peterson placed 11th among runners not on qualifying teams — the top seven earned trips to the state meet. Also counting for the Cougars were Caelin Foley 37th at 17:36.12, Nate Peters 95th at 18:50.73, Isaac Asplund 123rd at 19:38.69 and Nathan Cutts 124th at 19:43.33.

Ridgewood’s Jordan Francis finished 68th in the race with a time of 18:16.36.

Rockford Christian won the team title with 68 points and Riley Wells of Rockford Christian was the individual champ in a time of 15:52.55.

Ridgewood girls 22nd at Oregon

In the girls sectional race, the Spartans finished 22nd in the team chase with a 487 total.

Ridgewood’s counters were Carlie Barman 51st at 22:04.07, Makenna Medley 114th at 23:57.73, Lauren Curry 118th at 24:02.59, Tobi Matter 128th at 24:54.11 and Anna Paul 143rd at 26:00.72.

Rock Falls won the team title with 59 points and the individual champion was Alexandra Gomez of Rock Falls in a time of 18:54.83.
