Two Galva men and a Kewanee man accused of Class X felony attempted murder, Class 3 felony aggravated battery/bodily harm and aggravated battery/use of a deadly weapon will have their cases heard before a jury beginning Monday, Dec. 4.

Two Galva men and a Kewanee man accused of Class X felony attempted murder, Class 3 felony aggravated battery/bodily harm and aggravated battery/use of a deadly weapon will have their cases heard before a jury beginning Monday.

The trial for Quenton D. Whiteside, 25, will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday before Judge Terry Patton. The trial is expected to last four or five days.

The trial for Jamar T. Whiteside, 22, will begin Thursday, Dec. 7 or Friday, Dec. 8. A motion to dismiss the case will be heard Friday, Dec. 1.

A jury pretrial conference for Caine D. Ingram, 19, of Kewanee is set for 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 14. The case is set for trial the week of Jan. 2. 

According to court records the three men allegedly stabbed Michael W. Palmer, 20, of Burlington, Iowa, and struck him with an axe handle on April 17 at a Galva home. 

Palmer suffered significant injuries including multiple skull fractures and multiple stab wounds puncturing his lung and lacerating his liver, according to a press release from the Henry-Mercer Investigative Task Force.
