Galva schools and  the district’s CATS Commitment will present "Keep Your Kids Safe Online — A Parents Guide to Internet Safety," on Monday, Dec. 11.

Michael Minx, Detective Sergeant of Investigations with the Kewanee Police Department, will lead the program, which runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Galva Junior/Senior High cafeteria.

Detective Minx specializes in internet safety and will be presenting information that covers internet security, social media trends, legal consequences, as well as a live demonstration on how easy it can be for predators to prey on unsupervised kids and young adults.

There will be food and drink provided.

This is a program for the parents and guardians of all Galva elementary, junior high and high school students.

CATS Commitment is a 21st Century Community Learning Center grant partnership between Galva Schools and the Bureau Henry Stark Regional Office of Education.
