DePue — which handed the Wildcats their lone loss of the season at the ROWVA-Williamsfield Tournament — is the top seed in the eight-team field. Rounding out the top seeds are Brimfield second and Elmwood fourth.

The tourney tips Tuesday, Dec. 26, with four opening-round games — Brimfield vs. Lowpoint-Washburn at 2 p.m., Galva vs. Henry at 3:30 p.m., DePue vs. North Fulton at 6:30 p.m. and Elmwood vs. the host Princes at 8 p.m.

The Wildcats and Mallards have already met this season, with Galva handing Henry a 69-48 loss at the R-W tourney.

The consolation semis are at 2 and 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 27, with the semifinals set for 6:30 and 8 p.m.

The tourney concludes Dec. 28 with the seventh-place game at 2 p.m., fifth-place game at 3:30 p.m., third-place game at 6:30 p.m. and championship game at 8 p.m. 

Lady Wildcats also at Princeville

After spending the past few seasons at Erie, the Galva girls basketball team is joining the field at Princeville for the seventh annual holiday tourney hosted by the Lady Princes.

The six-team, round-robin event tips Tuesday, Dec. 26.  

Galva’s schedule at the tourney starts with a doubleheader Dec. 26 with Midland at noon in the high school gym and Peoria Heights at 6 p.m. in the junior high gym. 

Another doubleheader is on tap Dec. 27 with Bushnell-Prairie City at 10:30 a.m. in the high school gym and Princeville at 6 p.m. in the junior high gym. 

The tourney concludes Dec. 28 with Galva meeting Elmwood at 9 a.m. in the high school gym.
