West Central takes two from ROWVA-Williamsfield

West Central swept a doubleheader from ROWVA-Williamsfield Tuesday in Oneida — 7-6 in 10 innings in game one and 9-2 in the nightcap.

The Heat tied the game 6-6 with a run in the top of the seventh, and wiggled out of a bases-loaded jam in the bottom half to force extra innings. 

After West Central scored in the 10th, R-W stranded runners at second and third in its last at-bat.

Tina Foglesong and Kammi Denhart had two hits and two RBIs each for R-W. Mallory Shea added two hits and an RBI, and Alivia Alford had two hits.

Katelyn Aldred worked all 10 innings and took the loss for R-W. She fanned seven and allowed seven hits.

The Heat took control of the nightcap with four runs in the fourth inning to erase a 2-1 deficit.

Mady Reed sparked the West Central offense with three RBIs.

Foglesong accounted for all of R-W’s offense with a two-run homer. Marissa Miller took the loss for the Cougars.

A-W handles Lady Cats

Annawan-Wethersfield belted 16 hits and tallied 10 runs in the third and fourth innings to defeat Galva 18-5 in LTC play Monday.

Sydney Krause led the A-W offense with three hits and three RBIs, and Charlotte Pillen knocked in three runs.

Marie Marshall and Tressa Rogers paced Galva with three hits apiece.

Elly Olson took the loss for the Lady Cats.

 

SC sweeps Galva

Stark County toppled Galva in Saturday’s Lincoln Trail Conference doubleheader at the Galva Park District — 9-6 in the opener and 16-2 in the nightcap.

 

A-W sweeps Cougars 

Annawan-Wethersfield stayed in the Lincoln Trail Conference title hunt with a doubleheader sweep of ROWVA-Williamsfield Saturday — 11-1 in game one and 13-10 in the finale.

A-W broke the opener open with six runs in the fifth inning, and finished off the victory with a tally in the sixth. Alivia Alford and Tina Foglesong had two hits each for R-W.

A wild first inning in game two found A-W on top 5-4, and the Lady Titans held off R-W for the sweep.

Foglesong had another big game at the plate with three hits, including two triples. R-W’s Kammi Denhart had two hits, including a home run, and two RBIs, Paige Swanson knocked in two runs and Gionna Ott had two hits.

 

Lambin’s two HRs pace Ridgewood

Ridgewood’s Alli Lambin swatted two home runs in the same inning — the Spartans’ 13-run second inning — in Friday’s 24-4 non-conference rout of Monmouth-Roseville.

Lambin finished with five RBIs, while Mikayla Brockitt led Ridgewood’s 14-hit attack with three hits. Destiny Kidd also had two hits, while Breanna Hahn added a pair of RBIs. 

 

Princeville 

tops Cougars

Crooked numbers in the first and third innings helped Princeville to a 7-1 win over ROWVA-Williamsfield Thursday.

Tina Foglesong and Kammi Denhart led R-W with two hits apiece.

Katelyn Aldred went the distance and took the loss for R-W.

 

MerCo thumps Ridgewood

Mercer County collected 15 hits en route to a 12-1 six-inning win over Ridgewood in LTC play Thursday.

Three-run first and third innings propelled the Golden Eagles. 

Annie Althaus paced the Spartans’ offense with two hits and an RBI. Breanna Hahn took the loss for Ridgewood.
