Galva High School graduate Dalton Jones, the son of Dan and Sue Jones, is the most recent recipient of a scholarship grant from the Barlow-Yelm Memorial Scholarship at Bradley University in Peoria.

Galva High School graduate Dalton Jones, the son of Dan and Sue Jones, is the most recent recipient of a scholarship grant from the Barlow-Yelm Memorial Scholarship at Bradley University in Peoria.

Jones is a senior at BU and is majoring in manufacturing engineering. He will graduate from BU this month and has already secured a position as a lean manufacturing engineer at HNI Corporation in Muscatine, Iowa, and will start work there in June.

This is the 10th scholarship grant from the Barlow-Yelm Scholarship, and the fifth that has been awarded to a Galva High School graduate.

The scholarship was founded by former GHS graduates, Duane and Ann (Yelm) Barlow, and benefits Henry, Stark and Knox county students who are majoring in engineering at Bradley and meet the eligibility requirements established by the university.

Duane Barlow serves on the Executive Advisory Council for Bradley’s Caterpillar College of Engineering. 

The Barlows reside in Pinehurst, N.C.
