Mid-County boys cross country runners Caelin Foley and Lorin Peterson punched their tickets to the Class 1A state meet after qualifying at the Class 1A Oregon Sectional on Saturday, Oct. 27.

Foley finished sixth overall and second among the seven individual qualifiers with a time of 16:47.93. Peterson grabbed the seventh and final state-qualifying berth with a time of 17:18.53 on the Oregon Park West course, which was good for 16th overall. 

Mid-County finished 11th in the 21-team sectional field with 293 points. Also counting for the Cougars were Cal Larson (18:52.8, 77th), Will Spence (19:58.08, 114th) and Bryce Selman (20:27.89, 125th).

Foley and Peterson run in the Class 1A boys state meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at Detweiller Park in Peoria.
