Judge Charles Stengel on Wednesday in Henry County Court sentenced two people for their roles in two separate shootings in which Robert Daum of Galva was injured in his home in April and October of 2008.
Patrick Patterson, 41, of Peoria was sentenced to 45 years in prison - 30 years for attempted first-degree murder and a consecutive 15 years for conspiracy to commit murder. Truth-in-sentencing applies on the first charge and he will serve 85 percent of the 30-year term.
Angela Daum, 45, of Peoria, the victim’s ex-wife, received 15 years on each of two counts of conspiracy to commit murder. The terms will also be consecutive.
Both were also ordered to pay the victim $331,095 in restitution jointly and severally including $325,132 in medical bills. Henry County State’s Attorney Terry Patton said the victim lost a leg below the knee, and retains bullets behind a knee and in his back. He was in an induced coma for six days following the accident.
