Keep all of your doors locked.

That’s what Police Chief Jerry Clark’s urging Galva residents after a string of nighttime burglaries from vehicles and garages in the city.

Burglars have been taking money, Global Positioning Systems, CD’s, wallets and keys. Beer was taken from an unlocked garage.

The incidents started on Tuesday, Oct. 6, when a motor scooter was taken from a garage with its door open in the 800 block of Northwest 7th Avenue. The reports - perhaps 15 of them - have continued through at least Wednesday morning, when the scooter was located in Kewanee.

“Lock your vehicles, garages and houses and take your valuables out of your vehicles,” Clark said Monday. “We can’t protect unlocked vehicles.”
