The Bishop Hill Fire Department responded to a house fire at 3:23 a.m. Friday at 2080 1570E, where a vacant house was totally engulfed in flames.
Fire Chief Ben Strand said he called off mutual aid with Galva when it was apparent the structure was totally destroyed.
The State Fire Marshal was called to the scene on Friday. Strand said he has not received the report of the cause of the fire yet.
The house did not have electricity.
The home is owned by David Rose of Morrison.
