A former Galva man who was currently living in Kewanee was killed in a two-vehicle accident Thursday evening in Kewanee.

Scott M. Mlekush, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:34 p.m. by Henry County Coroner David Johnson.

Mlekush was a passenger in a pickup truck driven by Drew T.M. Richardson, 17, Kewanee. Richardson and another passenger, Randall L. Betz, 20, Kewanee, were both taken to Kewanee Hospital and then airlifted to OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Betz was listed in fair condition on Friday. Richardson was reportedly no longer a patient at the Peoria hospital on Friday.

The Richardson vehicle struck a vehicle driven by Steven L. Osborne, 47, Kewanee, about 6:48 p.m. Thursday at West South Street and Burlington Avenue.

Richardson was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

No one was injured in the Osborne vehicle, which had two other passengers in it, according to a report from the Henry County Sheriff’s Department.
