The Galva Foundation for Educational Enrichment (GalFEE) is hosting a “March of the Penguins” fund-raiser this month.
Similar to a flamingoes fundraiser held in Galva in the past, penguins will be placed on people’s lawns at the request of other people. The penguins will stay there up to 48 hours, unless the homeowner requests removal before that.
The homeowner can choose to participate in the fund-raiser by making a donation of at least $10 to have the penguins removed. Such donations are not mandatory, though. Removal will be done regardless of whether a donation is made or not. The spirit of the event is to have fun and help GalFEE, not be malicious.
Homeowners can also suggest the next yard in which their penguins should be placed, for a suggested donation of at least $10.
Penguins will only be delivered during the week, and won’t be in yards on weekends. They will not be placed outside city limits, nor on public property or at apartment complexes.
Arrangements can be made by calling Nancy Ingels at 932-2272 or e-mailing Mechelle Dyer at mechelledyer@msn.com.
Payments may be dropped off at Nancy Ingels Realty.
GalFEE is also planning another upcoming fund-raiser, a Daddy/Daughter Dance on April 18. Details will be forthcoming.
