The Galva Junior High School dance team won second place in the Pom category at the Illinois Drill Team Association Junior High/Junior Varsity State Competition held March 6 in Bloomington.

Galva, which tallied 158.5 points of a possible 200, fell just four points shy of the champion, Plum Grove. Coming in third and fourth, respectively, were Wesclin and Johnston City.

The Galva squad performed to the song “Sharp Dressed Man” by ZZ Top.
