The picture painted Tuesday by ROWVA School District 208 Supt. Lloyd Little for 100 area residents was grim.

The ROWVA School Board met in a special session to discuss possible budget cuts. Board members said little, but many others present had questions or comments.

Little said the state is now $449,219.42 behind in payments to the district and after a payment scheduled to be paid to the district on March 19, no further payments are scheduled from the state through June.

Little presented an extensive line item list of possible cuts for each department in the district including the preschool program, school nurse, a reading improvement aide, making a counseling position one-half time, two Title I aides, non-revenue sports and the late bus service.
