The Galva School Board is expected to take action on replacing the lead teacher position with an elementary principal at the board’s monthly meeting tonight.
The board, on its agenda for tonight’s meeting, lists accepting the resignation of Dawn Peters as lead teacher, a post in which she’s currently in her second year, at the end of the 2011-2012 school year. She’ll be appointed to serve as a fifth grade teacher in 2012-2013, according to the agenda.
The board will then take action on adding the elementary principal post, a position it discontinued when Peters began as lead teacher in 2010-2011.
The board also plans to discuss tonight the applicant status for the elementary principal position.
The public is invited to the meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. in the Galva Junior-Senior High School library.
