Paul Walliker was appointed by the Galva School Board on Monday night to fill the seat vacated by Larry Johnson, who resigned recently to take a job out of state.

Walliker is a former longtime member of the board, including serving as its president for one term.

The seat will be up for election in spring 2013.

In other buinsess:

Allen Wight of Williamsfield was present and voiced his support for keeping the Mid-County co-op high school football team, which is made up of Galva, ROWVA and Williamsfield students. The two-year contract is up after this season.
