Kovacik and 3 Spartans land on LTC first unit

State finalist Ridgewood has placed three girls on the first team of the 2010 Lincoln Trail Conference All-Conference Girls Basketball Team.

The Spartans, who finished third in the IHSA Class 1A State Tournament on Feb. 27, had two seniors - Stephanie Williams of AlWood and Amanda Kruger of Cambridge - and a junior - Ella Teel of AlWood - named to the LTC first unit.

Also named to the first team was Kelsey Kovacik, a ROWVA senior guard.

Ridgewood’s other two starters - seniors Michelle Williams and Jena Peterson - were named to the LTC second team.

Honorable mention honorees included freshman Alex Strom of Galva, sophomore Marysa Remick of ROWVA and senior Danyelle English of Ridgewood.
