Kevin T. Moore, 17, of Oneida, died on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010 at 12:05 a.m. at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
 

Should there be rewards for student attendance?

Student absenteeism and truancy can have a respectable impact on the amount of state aid a school district receives. The more students attend school, the greater the state aid. Oneida teen dies in auto mishap

A 17-year-old from Oneida died early Tuesday morning after a one-vehicle rollover accident east of Oneida at 9:04 p.m. Monday. Two other passengers in the pickup truck were treated at a local hospital and released, while the fourth person in the truck suffered a broken right hand.
 

Bill Brady: Tax cuts will increase Illinois deficit

Republican gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady gave some details on Tuesday about his plan to create more jobs and acknowledged that parts of his plan would add as much as $1 billion to the state’s $13 billion budget deficit.

BH couple comes alongside clock tower, urges others to do so

On Aug. 9, Henry County Board member Jim King accepted a very generous donation to the Henry County Courthouse Clock Tower Fund made by Wilbur and Marilyn Nelson of Bishop Hill. The couple donated the money on behalf of Nelson Farm Service and The Village Smithy, both owned and operated by the Nelsons. “I feel that the Henry County Courthouse is one of the most outstanding courthouses in Illinois,” Wilbur Nelson said.
