Donald West Lord, 86, formerly of Spring Lake, N.J., died on Tuesday, March 2 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune, N.J., of pneumonia.
Visitation was 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, followed by funeral services at noon at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Highway 35 in Wall, N.J.
Mr. Lord requested that in lieu of flowers, donations to be made to Farm Sanctuary (3150 Aikens Rd. Watkins Glen, N.Y. 14891), which advocates for escaped slaughterhouse animals and the Cat Assistance Network (Box B, Allenhurst, N.J. 07711), which works hard to bring comfort to local homeless outdoor cats.
