Faith: It's crucial

God loves faith. He loves when we live by faith. In fact, without faith, we can’t please Him.

The Bible says that “without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6)

That means that we can't come to God - can't become Christians - unless we do two things:

1) believe that He is
2) place our faith in Him

In other words:

*We must believe that the God who is written about in the Bible actually exists - and He isn't just simply some sort of divine being, like other "gods" people imagine.

*We must place our trust in God through faith in His Son, Jesus.

If we do this, He “rewards” us with forgiveness of sins and entry into His family. Without such faith, it's impossible to please Him.

Once we’ve become Christians, though - by receiving Christ by faith - we must still live by faith. We’re to trust that what He says in the Bible is true, and we’re to live according to that truth.

Sometimes I don’t exercise my faith in God enough. Usually, it's through not applying His word to my life. I disobey what I know He wants me to do. That’s costly, too, because when we don’t fully exercise faith in God, we forfeit opportunities to be blessed by Him.

How about you? Have you placed your faith in Christ yet?  If so, are you now living by faith daily, by trusting in Him and His word?
