Of all the great things about the birth of Jesus, I think the one that often grips me the most is this: He came to men.
Matthew 1:23 says "Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, which translated means, "God with us."
To think that the God of the universe would be willing - even desirous - of leaving heaven to dwell with sinful people is really amazing. In what other religion can one find its leader willing to condescend to be with His followers? And yet that's exactly what Jesus did.
And here's something perhaps even better: He still desires to come to us today. He enjoys - and invites - us to meet with Him . . . at any time, and at all times.
Though we can't see Him physically, we still can meet with him spiritually. It begins with a simple desire to speak with Him, and He with us, wherever we may be at that moment.
God physicaly came to men over 2,000 years ago. He still comes to them today, spiritually.
I wouldn't trade that for anything.
