Hello back home! Sorry for such the delay in my letter! It has been quite a hectic month down here at the U of I! I believe the teachers always plan to give out tons of homework and make it all due within the same week before break.
Personally, I have gone through a couple rough patches with a couple injuries, but all is good now! I never thought that missing one week of school would be so hard to make up! However, it is; having to make up work and stay up to date while the rest of the class continues is extremely difficult.
However, two straight wins from our Fighting Illini football team has definitely brightened our cloudy days! I remember at the beginning of the Halloween game on the first few plays the Illini had reached the five-yard line. I told my good friend, “I better take a picture because this will be the closest we will ever be to the end zone for the rest of the game!” I am glad I jinxed it! It has definitely been a celebration down here!
It is definitely time to crack down on studying these days. In some classes I have only a few more quizzes and a final before the final grade comes out. Down here, grades are not what define you. You define yourself by your actions and goals. You have to learn to make the best of the situations you are put into. You most definitely have to learn a lot of self-discipline to see yourself reach the goals you have set!
