Uncommon perhaps, but extremely worthwhile

Many people believe studying the Bible is unusual. That’s understandable. It’s somewhat uncommon. But it’s sure helped me.

When I was in my mid-teens, I began reading the Bible almost daily. In the 30 years since, I’ve continued that practice. The reason is:

*The Bible is God’s Word. You can’t find that anywhere else.

*The Bible tells me what God is like. There’s no better source.

*The Bible is Truth. It’s the source of all wisdom, and has no errors in it.

*The Bible is instructive. It tells me how to live.

*The Bible is encouraging. It lifts me when I’m down.

*The Bible offers wisdom and guidance. It gives me principles to use when making decisions.

Here’s what the Bible says about itself:

“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” (II Timothy 3:16)

The Bible is everything we need it to be. Yet, reading it is considered to be unusual.

But it’s helped me more than you can know.
