Tri-Point basketball

    Tri-Point won a boys’ basketball shootout with Cornerstone Christian Academy 77-74 Tuesday night.
    The Chargers trailed 40-26 at the half after CCA erupted for 24 points in the opening period. The Cyclones added 15 points in the third period but The Point was revving up.
    Tri-Point scored 26 points in the third frame and added 25 in the fourth in overtaking the Cyclones down the stretch. Mark Miller and Jasper Mauricio were key in the third. Randal Ifft, Nick thorson and Nick Mahoney led the final quarter push.
    Miller finished with 24 points and Ifft had 15 for the Chargers. Mahoney added 11 while Thorson threw in 9 points. Mauricio and Jacob Bruner chipped in 8 point apiece. Piers Cardenas had 2 points.
    Clayton Goehen and Noah Woodrum each had 30 points for Cornerstone.
