Sophomore basketball

Isaac Nollen hit the first big shot, and then Michael Fitzsimmons nailed the game-winner in overtime as Pontiac edged El Paso-Gridley 52-50 in the sophomore game Tuesday at the Titan Center.
The Titans led 44-41 as time wound down in regulation. After working the ball, the Indians found Nollen on the left side and he buried a 3-pointer as time ran out, sending the preliminary contest into overtime and delaying the start of the varsity game.
The game was tied at 50-50 when Pontiac had the ball in the waning second once again. This time, it was a missed shot that led to a scramble and the final basket.
Fitzsimmons came up with the errant PTHS shot and charged off the right side of the lane, putting up a runner that found a home through the net as time ran out.
Fitzsimmons had 15 points and Nollen added 12 for the Indians. Payton Amm led the PTHS scorers with 16 points. Luke Fox added 5 and Clay Miller and Gavin Bauknecht each had 2 points.
