Pontiac track from Monday

    Pontiac’s boys’ and girls’ teams each won six events in a co-ed meet Monday. The difference was the boys won their quadrangular and the girls came in second in the gathering at Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley.
    It was depth that allowed Pontiac to win the boys’ meet with 11 points. GCMS was next at 66 and was followed by LeRoy (48) and Blue Ridge (39).
    On the track, Joel Whittle led four Indians across the line as PTHS took the top four spots in the 200-meter dash. Whittle won in 23.95 seconds, edging teammate Ethan Lee by a scant 0.03.
    Whittle teamed with Lee, Austin Norman and Adam Metcalf to win the 4x100 relay in 45.39 seconds. Whittle, Lee and Metcalf were joined by Kevin Turner in taking the 4x200 in 1:34.03.
    Geno Borrego won the 300 intermediate hurdles in 45.86 seconds and claimed the triple jump with a mark of 41 feet, 11½ inches. Cameron Dawson won the 400 dash in  54.73 seconds.
    On the girls’ side, GCMS edged the Tribe 86-74. Blue Ridge scored 52 points and LeRoy had 30.
    Sarah Christopher won the 100-meter dash in 13.45 seconds and Erin Christopher took the 300 low hurdles in 54.62 ticks. The Christophers teamed with Arrienna Davidson and Meghan Lee to win the 4x100 relay in 54.04 seconds.
    Jacey Crisostomo took the 1,600 in 6:53.59. She teamed with Hannah Lee, Ashley Branz and Andrea Mehrkens to win the 4x800 relay in 12:21.73.
    The 4x400 relay quartet of Megan Eck, Leslie Babbs, Branz and Lee won in 4:51.1.
