Galva High School senior Brennan Steward, seen here pitching in a game last season, and his teammates could be joined on the team this season by Williamsfield students. A special joint meeting of the Galva and Williamsfield school boards tonight will consider that issue, and discuss whether they’d like to co-op other sports.

The school boards for the Galva and Williamsfield school districts will meet together tonight (Thursday, March 4) to discuss the possible co-oping of sports.

The meeting is 7 p.m. in the Galva High School library. The two boards will discuss the issues in open session. The public is invited.

Action is expected to be taken on one issue - a Williamsfield request to co-op high school baseball this spring - but not on another - co-oping other sports.

“They have a numbers problem so they’re asking to co-op this year,” Galva Supt. Dr. James M. Minick said Tuesday of the baseball issue.

Also tonight, the boards will discuss the possibility of co-oping all other high school sports.

Minick and Bush are unsure if junior high sports will be discussed also.
