Ridgewood and Knoxville - both ranked highly in Class 1A - may be headed to a showdown in the AlWood Regional, the opening round of girls high school basketball state tournament play beginning next week.
The Spartans, ranked fourth, and the Blue Bullets, ranked sixth, will meet in the championship game on Thursday, Feb. 11 if they each win their first game in the five-team tourney, which which includes Galva, ROWVA and Orion.
Fourth-seeded ROWVA and fifth-seeded Galva open the tournament with a 7:30 p.m. game Monday, Feb. 8.
The winner of the ROWVA-Galva game will play top-seed Knoxville at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10. Also playing on Feb. 10 will be second-seed Ridgewood and third-seed Orion, beginning at 8 p.m.
The winners of those two games will play in the championship game on Feb. 11, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
