Mercer County coach Brian Hutton talks about Brett Anderson like he’s a sports car, not a high school sports star.

“I’ve never seen a kid go from zero to 60 so fast,” Hutton said of his senior guard. “It’s not that he’s overly fast; he just accelerates so quickly.”

Anderson, along with a host of fleet-footed teammates, zipped past the ROWVA boys basketball team 55-41 on Saturday in the Lincoln Trail Conference Tournament championship game at Wethersfield.

“Outplayed,” Tigers coach Jason Lydic said. “We didn’t deserve it tonight.”
