The ROWVA High School boys basketball team’s rematch with Galva started right where it left off.
Four days after the Tigers scored 27 of the last 29 in beating the Wildcats, ROWVA opened up an enormous first-half lead and beat Galva 49-34 in a Lincoln Trail Conference Tournament quarterfinal Tuesday.
Trevor McCarthy hit three 3-pointers in the first quarter for the Tigers (14-8), who jumped to a 21-5 lead and had a 31-9 halftime advantage.
Andrew Kovacik also hit three 3s and finished with a game-high 15 points for third-seeded ROWVA, which will face second-seeded Stark County at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Wethersfield.
Matthew Shepherd scored 10 for the Tigers.
Jake Warner had nine points to lead Galva (5-15).
