When Kovacik twins Andrew and Kelsey received their high school diplomas on Sunday, they were the last of Tom and Cindy Kovacik’s nine children to graduate from ROWVA.

The end of the Kovacik era, which began counting down when their oldest child, Tom, graduated in 1994, is bittersweet, but that is not the strongest emotion the Kovaciks felt on Sunday.

“We’re very proud all of our children have graduated from ROWVA,” Cindy Kovacik said. “They’ve done very well and been very successful in the fields they’ve gone into and that’s in part due to ROWVA. They enjoyed the sports, and they’ve all benefited."

Kelsey, one of the Top 6 honored in the Class of 2010, has selected a Florida university to attend in the fall, while Andrew has chosen to continue his education in Colorado.

“It’s a very bittersweet situation. We’re happy for them, sad for ourselves. They’re spreading their wings,” Cindy Kovacik said.
