The Galva and Williamsfield school boards in a special joint meeting March 4 approved a baseball co-op that will go into effect this season.

No members from either board voted against the co-op, which will be called the Galva-Williamsfield Wildcats and wear hats that say “Galva-Williamsfield Baseball Co-op.” The team will open its season March 18 at Knoxville.

“It was kind of up in the air for most of the last week, I think, but I’m glad it went through,” Galva athletics director Clay Haurberg said.

“This is a win win situation for both districts,” Galva Supt. Dr. James M. Minick added. “I am very pleased.”
