MACOMB — A seemingly lengthy process winds its way to conclusion Monday as the city council will vote on three proposed ordinances that would add recreation center zoning to the municipal menu.
One ordinance would add a recreation center special use to the city zoning matrix, another would add recreation centers to the municipal special use code, and the third ordinance would approve a Macomb Planning Commission recommendation to create a recreation center special use for 1301 West Grant Street.
In other business, aldermen plan to take a final vote on a proposed ordinance amendment that would change city council and committee of the whole meeting times to 5:15 p.m. each Monday. The change would take effect in 2018.
Council members also will vote on accepting the FY 2017 external audit report, renewing the vehicle allowance as a taxable retirement contribution for two city employees, and approving a contract for on-call sidewalk snow removal along highways 67 and 136. The council may vote itself power to act at its November 27 committee of the whole meeting for the awarding of a contract for city property and casualty insurance coverage.
Aldermen may also vote on a federal grant agreement resolution and on a city ordinance authorizing the sale of surplus property. The city council meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on the second floor of Macomb City Hall.
