Funeral services for Leonard A. Kuchenmeister, 87, of Pontiac, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Pontiac, with Rev. Warren Brosi officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, rural Pontiac.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday at the funeral home.
Leonard passed away at 6:05 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at Tjardes Health Care Center at Evenglow Lodge.
Born March 12, 1930, in Delano, Minn., Leonard was a son of Mathew and Frances (Michalla) Kuchenmeister. He married Shirley Crutcher on Oct. 31, 1954, in Hamlet. She preceded him in death on Oct. 21, 2012.
Survivors include five children, Roger A. Kuchenmeister of Plano, Janet Post of Normal, Mark (Christine) Kuchenmeister of League City, Texas, Linda (Ron) Tucker of Pontiac and Kaye (Brian) Olomon of Bloomington; six grandchildren, Terry, Kristen, Danielle, Erica, Seth and Julia; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Phyllis VanHorn of Rockford, Minn.
Leonard was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert, and one sister, Laura.
Educated in Minnesota schools, Leonard was employed with Cargill Inc. Seed Company for 34 years, retiring as manager of the Pontiac office in 1988. He served our country in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953. He was a former member of the Pontiac Sportsman's Club and Moose Lodge.
