Vina L. Gardner, 94, of Chenoa, died at 10:02 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community, Chenoa.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Chenoa Baptist Church. Burial with military funeral honors followed in Gridley Cemetery, Gridley. A calling was also held at the church in Chenoa on Monday. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa, had charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Gardner was born Oct. 12, 1923, in Britton, Okla., a daughter to Jesse and Ruby Pearl (Snyder) Vaughn. She married Lynn E. Gardner on Oct. 8, 1944, in Seattle, Wash. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2008.
She is survived by two daughters, Lois (Dan) Thompson and Carol (Ron) Charlson, both of Lexington; one sister, Norma Jean Smith of Guthrie, Okla; one sister-in-law, Darlene Gardner of Lexington; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Her parents, three brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.
Vina served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
