Pontiac wins, to play in championship bracket

    Pontiac will be playing in the championship semifinals after rallying for a 75-69 victory over host Hall at the Colmone Classic Tuesday night.
    The Indians (3-4) will take on Rock Falls Friday at 8 p.m. The championship game is Saturday.
    Hall had the Tribe’s number early by outscoring PTHS 17-12 in the first quarter and 15-11 in the second for a 32-23 halftime edge. The Red Devils built the lead to 20 points in the third before Pontiac’s pressure started taking its toll.
    The Indians outscored Hall 23-21 in the third and put up 29 points in the final frame to take the game.
    “This game showed growth with heart and toughness tonight with this team,” Pontiac head coach Durrell Robinson said. “I am so proud of these guys sticking through adversity."
    Alden Rutledge came off the bench to score 17 points in leading the Pontiac charge. Carter Dawson added 13 points and Ryan Weir chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. Michael Davis chalked up 9 markers with Cam Dawson adding 7. Clayton Miller had 5 points, Colton Walsberg and Tyler Rich each had 4 points, Logan Verdun threw in 3 and Payton Amm had 2 points.
